Stopped at the Chinese bbq takeout in the same strip center. Looking for a lunch on a quiet Friday midday. Nice, big restaurant with tables in & out. Counter Service with a full Trinidadian menu! Went for the roti stuffed with seasoned potato & the lunch 7.50 special consisting of sauteed chicken with rice & noodles, a nice sized portion. Place your order then they will bring you your food at the table. Clean, nice music, attentive service. The food was good not fantastic but a great Trini/Indian/ chinese fusion menu! Give it a try!
Down home island feel. Great food and great music. Thoroughly enjoyed the curry chicken roti meal.
Top notch service. Top notch food. Top notch atmosphere. After seeing an instagram reel promoting Singh’s roti delight, I knew I had to try. Since this was my first time tasting Trinidadian food, I had lots of questions and their friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff guided us through the entire experience. We had the doubles and aloo pie to begin and then tried the curry chicken and stewed lamb roti. My oh my were the doubles insane! Everything was so fresh. The spicy pepper sauce is also to die for. I also tried a fresh pineapple and ginger juice and it was delicious. The atmosphere is so chill and I can’t wait to visit on a Friday for live music/dj. I will be returning with friends!
I found another nice spot that serves authentic Trinidadian food. Located in the Oakland Shopping Center, this large restaurant definitely has the feel of the West Indies with such a casual and relaxing vibe. After overlooking the menu, I greeted a friendly male employee and placed an order for a double with tamarind & cucumber chutney and trini style Chinese chicken with lo mein and fried rice. Watching the steady flow of people coming in automatically told me that the food here was good, such as: * Roti meals/various roti shells * Doubles/aloo pie/phoulorie/various bakes * Lunch specials/specialty items/vegetarian dishes There's also homemade sweets, juices, ice cream, split channa, Caribbean beverages, local & imported beers, and cocktails. Prices are reasonable, and they cater. My food was brought to me and I couldn't wait to partake. I started with the double which was very good. The bara had a nice texture and the flavors of both chutneys with the curried channa were delightful, but the most enjoyable dish for me was the Chinese chicken with lo mein and fried rice. The fusion of Chinese and Trinidad flavors absolutely blew my mind, and the chicken was tender and flavorful...wasn't too peppery. Before leaving, I got another double to take home along with some phoulourie. I am looking forward to coming back, especially during their lunch special hours.
Located in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, Singh’s Roti Delight offers an authentic taste of Caribbean cuisine, particularly Trinidad and Tobago specialties. The restaurant is renowned for its hearty roti, which are generously sized and filled with a variety of flavorful ingredients. Vegetarian options are also available. The potato roti comes highly recommended for those seeking a meatless meal. Additionally, the veggie platter, featuring channa, pumpkin, potato, spinach, and my personal favorite was the Tomato Choka and eggplant Choka. Anytime we’re visiting Miami. We always make a stop at Singh’s roti delight
Just love it! Friendly staff! Great customer service! Food is delicious!!! Plenty of parking and easy location to get to. I highly recommend! Owner is very nice and friendly! I am glad my friends brought me here.
"My name is Singh, mfer! "-- outstanding Trinny food, as hot as you can take. Nice big inside, well lit. All star local. Bar to wash it all down. Aloo pie is with the slow AF rush hour traffic. Happy hour 5 to 7pm.
Very tasty, authentic, West Indian meals. This is one of the only restaurants I can get curried mango as well. This is real home cooking, as if you’re in your mother’s kitchen eating, unlike the others where food is mass produced and tastes generic. I order while I’m heading there via the phone and then pick up. The couple who owns this restaurant is very humble and very patient with my large order over the phone. Here you can find Trinidad/Guyanese cuisine, drinks and desserts. While you wait you can enjoy Caribbean music and chat with locals and tourists from the islands!
